جامعة البلمند ومايكروسوفت تبحثان سبل التعاون لتعزيز مهارات الذكاء الاصطناعي
بيروت، 23 كانون الأول 2025: وقّعت جامعة البلمند (UOB) مذكرة تفاهم مع شركة مايكروسوفت، بهدف وضع إطار للتعاون في مجالات تعليم الذكاء الاصطناعي وبناء القدرات الرقمية، بما يساهم في تزويد الطلاب وأعضاء الهيئة التعليمية والموظفين بالمعرفة والمهارات اللازمة لمواكبة التحولات التكنولوجية المتسارعة. وقد وقّع مذكرة التفاهم كل من الدكتور إلياس وراق، رئيس جامعة البلمند، والسيد نعيم يزبك، رئيس مايكروسوفت لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط وأفريقيا.
وتحدّد مذكرة التفاهم مجالات التعاون المحتملة في تطوير برامج تعليم الذكاء الاصطناعي وبناء القدرات وتقييم امكانية انشاء مركز تميّز، بما يدعم القيادات الأكاديمية والتنفيذية وأعضاء الهيئة التعليمية والموظفين والطلاب، ويعزز جاهزيتهم للمشاركة الفاعلة في الاقتصاد الرقمي واقتصاد الذكاء الاصطناعي.
وأكد الدكتور إلياس وراق أهمية هذه المذكرة، قائلاً: “تعكس هذه المذكرة التزام جامعة البلمند بدورها في إعداد كوادر قادرة على قيادة المستقبل الرقمي. ومن خلال التعاون مع مايكروسوفت، نهدف إلى تعزيز مهارات الذكاء الاصطناعي وربط التعليم الأكاديمي بمتطلبات سوق العمل والتحول الرقمي.”
من جهته، قال السيد نعيم يزبك: “تلتزم مايكروسوفت بتمكين الأفراد والمؤسسات من تحقيق المزيد في عصر الذكاء الاصطناعي. ويسعدنا التعاون مع جامعة البلمند في دعم مبادرات تعليمية وتدريبية تركز على بناء المهارات الرقمية، وتمكين الطلاب وأعضاء الهيئة التعليمية والموظفين من اكتساب القدرات اللازمة للمشاركة بثقة في اقتصاد الذكاء الاصطناعي.”
وبموجب هذه المذكرة، سيتعاون الطرفان على تطوير ودمج برامج تعليم الذكاء الاصطناعي ضمن المناهج الأكاديمية ومبادرات التدريب، وتعزيز تبادل المعرفة وتنفيذ أنشطة مشتركة تدعم الابتكار والتقدّم التعليمي والتكنولوجي.
University of Balamand explores partnership with Microsoft to equip Students, Faculty and Staff with AI Skills
Beirut, 23 December 2025: The University of Balamand (UOB) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Microsoft to establish a framework for collaboration on AI learning programs and the development of artificial intelligence skills for its student population, as well as faculty and staff. The MOU was signed by Dr. Elias Warrak, President of UOB, and Mr. Naim Yazbeck, President, Microsoft Middle East and Africa.
The MOU sets a framework for discussions to assess cooperation in AI education and capacity building, and the process to assess the feasibility of establishing a centre of excellence. This collaboration aims to benefit university executives, faculty members, staff, and students through AI learning programs that enhance knowledge, skills, and practical capabilities in artificial intelligence.
Dr. Elias Warrak highlighted the importance of the agreement, stating: “This MOU reflects UOB’s commitment to preparing our student, faculty and staff for the future. By collaborating with Microsoft, we aim to strengthen AI skills and ensure our graduates are equipped to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world.”
Mr. Naim Yazbeck added: “At Microsoft, we’re committed to empowering educational institutions for an AI driven future. We’re pleased to explore ways to develop AI learning programs for University of Balamand’s students, faculty and staff so they can develop the skills and confidence required to participate fully in the AI economy.”
Through this partnership, UOB and Microsoft will explore ways to integrate AI learning programs into academic curricula and training initiatives, as well as opportunities for knowledge sharing and joint activities that support educational and technological advancement.
