Title: I refuse your request
I refuse your request
One day I saw you rising like a flood to claim my Nile,
Storming my heart with your irresistible smile.
I surrendered all, let you possess my soul,
Till you became my life, my essence, my whole.
Year after year, our crimson passion turned to gold,
Love’s fiery words fell silent; our embraces grew cold.
What once burned like summer now shivers in the frost,
And I stand here wondering what our love has lost.
Now you seek another heart, another place to belong?
But you’ve lived in my soul like its deepest song.
My life is no stage, no game, no passing test;
You’re the beating heart within my breast.
If loving you’s a sin, then both of us are to blame;
Let justice judge us both—we shared the same flame.
You cannot leave my heart as though we never met;
Some bonds defy the will, some souls cannot forget.
No! I refuse your request, you are not free to go.
No, this heart is not for rent, nor love a thing to owe.
It’s not a question of what I can or cannot do:
It’s either life with you, or life that isn’t true.
